How Sleeping Melts Fat
Let’s talk about something different from normal and consider how well you sleep.Getting enough good quality sleep is an elusive goal of many fitness buffs.
The quality of your sleep and how much of it you get is important to your hormone balance and metabolism: it can create a leaner body if you sleep well. If you are not getting good amounts of healthy sleep, you could actually be getting putting on weight!
Although sleep disorders can play a part, the biggest reason people don’t sleep enough is because their minds won’t shut down. You lose a lot from lying in bed thinking about your day and about the problems you might have.Here are some helpful sleeping hints that might benefit you if you are having problems sleeping:
1. Don’t exercise close to bed time. Get your exercise at other times during the day and that will actually help you sleep better.
2. Don’t be afraid to eat before going to bed. Be sure to choose healthy foods to eat.
A small snack of 90 calories or so will eliminate hunger, helping you fall asleep faster.
3. Limit afternoon caffeine intake.
4.Mint or chamomile tea will help you relax, so drink some about an hour before you retire.You will appreciate it’s calming effect. There’s a product called “bedtime tea” that has chamomile and mint tea in the same tea bag that seems to promote relaxation.
5. Nutmeg is also good to take before you go to sleep.You’ll get antioxidants and a calming effect from this.You can grind it onto food or create your own capsules.
6. Clear your mind. This is one of the hardest things to do. One thing that might work for you is writing down all that is on your mind onto a piece of paper. This will help you get some relief from those persistent thoughts.
You can also visualize yourself in a relaxing place like on the beach or a mountaintop to help get your focus off of your problems.People sleep better if they can take charge of their mind when it’s time to sleep.
There are a lot of other great ideas that help people sleep better. Just stay with natural options that don’t have the side effects that sleep drugs have.
